A captivating Kenya safari combining luxury with adventure tour, traversing the scenic Rift Valley to Masai Mara Game Reserve, with the highest concentration of wildlife in Kenya. Explore the African plains, valleys, forests and rivers during the daily game drives across the reserve. This home to the Big Five (the lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant & buffalo) and many other mammals and birds has the world’s leading diversity in flora and fauna.

The tour then ascends northwest to Lake Nakuru National Park – bird watchers’ paradise, where Wildlife includes endangered White and Black rhinoceros as well as Rothschild giraffes, Water bucks, predators such as the lion and leopard amongst others. Lake Nakuru is saline with diatomite, blue-green algae and fish (Tilapia grahami) that attract Flamingoes, Pelicans, Cormorants and other bird species.

The Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi-Masai Mara

We pick you up from your hotel and depart southwards into the great rift valley, with a brief stop at the viewpoint. We then climb the western wall entering Hemingway’s country of “The Serengeti Plains” Arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in Masai Mara game reserve. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Masai Mara full day

After breakfast at the lodge, we spend a full day exploring this rich, tree studded grassland of rolling hills and valleys. The Mara is famous for its great herds of plain game, black-maned lions, leopards and cheetahs, hyenas, jackals and large herds of elephants among other wildlife. Lunch is either picnic under one of the trees in the Savana or at the lodge before continuing the game viewing. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Maasai Mara full day

After early morning breakfast leave the camp for morning game drive until lunch time, return to the lodge for hot lunch. Afternoon optional nature walks or a visit to a nearby Maasai village before game enroute to the lodge for dinner and overnight. There is the option of another full day exploration of the reserve.

Day 4: Masai mara- Lake Nakuru.

Early morning breakfast, then check out and depart for Lake Nakuru with an optional visit to Masai village and short game drive enroute. Picnic lunch enroute, arriving in the early evening for dinner and overnight at a lodge in Nakuru.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru- Nairobi

After early morning breakfast, proceed for an extensive morning game drive in L. Nakuru National Park. Formerly known for its millions of flamingoes and other water birds. Due to rise in water level, many Flamingoes have migrated but still some remain. Leave Nakuru after lunch and drive back to Nairobi arriving late in the afternoon.
